Dancing on the Edge stimulates artistic exchange with the Middle East and North Africa. We collaborate with a wide range of (inter)national partner organizations in order to stimulate mutual artistic exchange, provide development and performance opportunities for artists, and to challenge existing conceptions and stereotypes. While the high point of the activities is a biennial, multi-city festival held in The Netherlands, Dancing on the Edge also arranges performance tours, training programs, workshops, artistic residencies, co-productions, educational programs, films screenings, symposiums, debates and other activities. These take place both in The Netherlands and in the MENA region. Dancing on the Edge is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Every two years, since 2007, Dancing on the Edge has presented a festival focusing on performing arts, film and multimedia-installations in a number of Dutch cities. The festival is a platform for artists from the Middle Eastern region to show what moves them. An extensive context program called Arts & Minds, which includes lectures, discussions, workshops, meetings and other activities complements and enriches the artistic program. The next Dancing on the Edge Festival is planned in November 2017.
